Fast National ratings for Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014

The 2014 Golden Globe Awards scored strong ratings for NBC Sunday, delivering an adults 18-49 rating on par with its performance in last year’s fast nationals (pending updates for its live telecast). The Globes did not, however, give NBC a win for the night.

That honor belongs to CBS, which rode big numbers for an NFL playoff game in the first hour of primetime to the top spot. FOX’s animated shows and ABC’s “Revenge” held up reasonably well opposite the Globes.

CBS delivered 18.1 million viewers and a 10.8 rating/16 share in households for the night, pending updates for its live NFL broadcast NBC (15.5 million, 9.4/14) currently stands in second. ABC (4.2 million, 2.7/4) finished a distant third and FOX (3.8 million, 2.2/3) trailed.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS scored a 4.8 rating to edge NBC’s 4.7. FOX posted a 1.8 and ABC a 1.1.
