american idol hollywood jennifer steven TV ratings: 'Idol' and CBS up Thursday, ABC and NBC falterFast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011

The thinning of the “American Idol” herd on Thursday gave the show a small ratings bump over last week, and CBS was up a little bit as well. ABC and NBC, however, both continued their downward trend of recent weeks.

FOX scored 15.95 million viewers and a 9.0 rating/15 share in households for the night, up slightly from last Thursday. CBS (13.1 million, 8.0/13) also improved a little bit on last week. ABC (7.75 million, 5.0/8) and NBC (4.2 million, 2.5/4) both shed some viewers, but The CW (2.6 million, 1.5/3) rebounded some from last week’s lower-than-usual numbers

FOX dominated the adults 18-49 demographic thanks to “Idol,” averaging a 5.4 rating for the night. CBS took second with a 3.0, beating out ABC’s 2.7. NBC could only muster a 2.0 and finished fourth. The CW scored a 1.1.
