nba finals game 1 320 TV ratings: Lakers, ABC win ThursdayFast National ratings for Thursday, June 3, 2010

The NBA Finals got off to a decent start in the Nielsens Thursday, with the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the Boston Celtics improving a little in viewers over Game 1 of last year’s Finals.

ABC drew 10.2 million viewers and a 6.3 rating/11 share in households for the night; those numbers will change some with adjustments for the live NBA telecast. FOX (8.5 million, 5.2/9) came in second, followed by CBS (7.1 million, 4.7/8). NBC’s 2.7 million viewers and 1.8/3 was good enough for fourth. The CW scored 1.35 million viewers and a 0.9/2 as encores of the three-year-old series “Moonlight” did OK, at least by the standards of reruns on The CW.

ABC also led among adults 18-49 with a 3.9 rating, even with the first game last year. FOX, 3.2, came in second. There was a sizable drop from there to third-place CBS, 1.5. NBC averaged 1.2 in the demographic and The CW 0.5.
