The time-period debuts of “About a Boy” and “Growing Up Fisher” performed pretty well for NBC Tuesday following “The Voice,” with repeats of each show’s pilot matching or improving on their post-Olympic premieres in adults 18-49.

The news was not nearly as good for ABC’s new drama “Mind Games,” which opened weakly and continued the network’s struggle in the 10 o’clock timeslot this season. “NCIS” was the night’s most-watched show overall but was on the low side of its season average for CBS. “Glee” moved to a new night and improved slightly on its last original episode, as did “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”

CBS drew 13.6 million viewers and an 8.7 rating/14 share in households in primetime, leading second-place NBC (9.25 million, 5.6/9) by a comfortable margin. ABC (6.5 million, 4.5/7) came in third. FOX took fourth with 2.8 million viewers and a 1.8/3. The CW delivered 2.2 million viewers and a 1.3/2, with those numbers subject to change as its lineup was pre-empted in Chicago.

NBC led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.6 rating, beating out CBS’ 2.2 and ABC’s 2.0. FOX posted a 1.2 and The CW a 0.9.
