“Modern Family” improved a bunch on its season-low ratings from last week, rising almost a full point among adults 18-49 to lead Wednesday night in the demographic. It also helped the premiere of “How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)” score pretty good numbers.

“Family” also beat “American Idol” by a good amount in the 18-49 demo in their shared half-hour. “Idol” was off slightly from last week, although it was still enough to lead FOX to a win for the night. “Criminal Minds” and “CSI” were on the low side for CBS, but “Nashville” was up some for ABC, beating “Chicago Fire” in the 18-49 demo for the first time in weeks.

FOX averaged 11.5 million viewers and a 7.0 rating/11 share in households for the night, beating CBS’ 9.9 million and 6.2/10. ABC (7.2 million, 4.5/7) came in third. NBC took fourth with 6.1 million viewers and a 4.3/7. The CW (2.4 million, 1.4/2) trailed.

FOX also led the 18-49 demographic with a 3.0 rating. CBS scored a 2.4, edging ABC’s 2.3 for second place. NBC was fourth with a 1.5, and The CW trailed with a0.8.
