nba finals 2013 game 1 TV ratings: NBA Finals down some but ABC still dominates Thursday nightFast National ratings for Thursday, June 6, 2013

Game 1 of the NBA Finals fell some from last year’s big ratings, but the opener of the series between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs still dominated the night.

The game scored a 10.6 rating in the metered markets — down from 11.8 for last year’s opener but good enough for ABC’s third-best Game 1 mark since it started broadcasting the Finals in 2004. Also Tuesday, “Hell’s Kitchen” was pretty steady for FOX, and “Hannibal” dipped slightly for NBC.

In the fast nationals, ABC averaged 10.4 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/11 share in households for the night — numbers that will rise when adjusted for the final nationals. CBS (6.6 million, 4.4/7) came in second. FOX took third with 4 million viewers and a 2.5/4, beating out NBC’s 2.3 million and 1.6/3. The CW (828,000, 0.6/1) trailed.

ABC also ruled the 18-49 demographic with a 4.0 rating. FOX was the best of the rest with a 1.6, followed by CBS at 1.3. NBC (0.7) and The CW (0.2) both fell below the 1.0 mark.
