ncaa final ratings 2014 TV ratings: NCAA final down but leads Monday, 'The Voice' and 'The Following' steadyFast National ratings for Monday, April 7, 2014

The NCAA men’s basketball championship gave CBS a ratings win Monday night, though the early numbers for Connecticut’s win over Kentucky look to be down from last year’s title game. It also didn’t have too much effect on the rest of Monday’s prime-time shows.

“The Voice” was even with last week for NBC, and a special showing of “American Dream Builders” scored well above its Sunday average (though well below what “The Blacklist” usually does). “Bones” improved a little for FOX, and “The Following” held steady. “Dancing With the Stars” rose slightly in viewers but fell in adults 18-49.

CBS averaged 14.6 million viewers and an 8.7 rating/13 share in households for the night, pending updates for the live NCAA broadcast. ABC (12.1 million, 7.9/12) finished second, followed by NBC (9.7 million, 5.9/9). FOX took fourth with 5.5 million viewers and a 3.4/5, and The CW (792,000, 0.6/1) trailed.

CBS also dominated the 18-49 demographic with a 4.9 rating. NBC came in second with a 2.8, a point better than ABC’s 1.8. FOX posted a 1.5 and The CW a 0.3.
