A pair of Christmas specials helped NBC score a win among adults 18-49 Wednesday night, while “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” carried CBS to the top spot among viewers.

“Survivor” had its best performance of the season in viewers and rose by a couple tenths of a point in 18-49. “Arrow” scored its biggest total audience in more than nine months for The CW while also hitting a season high among adults 18-34. NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” had its best 18-49 rating since 2006.

On the down side, “Modern Family” and the rest of ABC’s comedies all fell some. “The X Factor” was up over last week but still finished fourth in each of its hours.

CBS delivered 8.9 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/9 share in households for the night, beating out NBC (8.2 million, 5.0/8) for the lead. ABC (6.4 million, 4.1/7) came in third. FOX took fourth with 5.3 million viewers and a 3.3/5. The CW (2.5 million, 1.6/2) trailed.

NBC led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.5 rating. ABC and CBS tied for second at 1.9, half a point better than FOX’s 1.4. The CW drew a 0.9.
