nba-finals-14-game-1-ratings.jpgFast National ratings for Thursday, June 5, 2014

Fittingly for a rematch of last year’s NBA Finals, Game 1 of the 2014 matchup between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs drew about the same audience as Game 1 in 2013. ABC dominated the night, beating the combined 18-49 rating of the other four broadcast networks.

The metered-market rating (10.4) for Thursday’s game was slightly below the 10.6 for last year’s Finals opener, but ABC’s fast national numbers — which will change some because of the live telecast — are a little better.

Also Thursday, “Hell’s Kitchen” was steady for FOX. NBC’s lineup was down from last week, but “Hollywood Game Night,” “Undateable” and “Last Comic Standing” held up reasonably well.

ABC drew 10.7 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/11 share in households for the night, pending updates. CBS (5.7 million, 3.8/7) came in second. NBC (3.795 million, 2.4/4) and FOX (3.785 million, 2.3/4) finished in a near-tie for third. The CW (690,000, 0.5/1) trailed.

ABC scored a 4.2 rating among adults 18-49. CBS, FOX and NBC all averaged 1.2, and The CW came in at 0.3.
