On the heels of its second-season renewal, ratings for “The Night Shift” improved by a good amount week to week — thanks in part to “America’s Got Talent” returning to originals after airing a repeat last week.

“AGT” was even with its last first-run Tuesday telecast, but the night’s other originals didn’t fare as well. “Extreme Weight Loss” and “Celebrity Wife Swap” both fell for ABC, and The CW’s “Famous in 12” continued not to make its subjects famous.

NBC delivered 9.7 million viewers and a 5.9 rating/10 share in households for the night, comfortably beating CBS (6.2 million, 4.2/7) for the top spot. ABC came in third with 3.1 million viewers and a 2.1/4. FOX (1.3 million, 0.8/1) was fourth, and The CW (520,000, 0.4/1) trailed.

NBC also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.2 rating and was the only network to get over the 1.0 mark. ABC and CBS tied for second at 0.9. FOX drew a 0.5 and The CW a 0.2.
