The 16th edition of “Big Brother” got off to a decent start Wednesday, scoring the night’s top 18-49 rating and improving across the board on last year’s premiere. CBS scored a win for the night thanks to the show.

Also Wednesday, the premiere of “Taxi Brooklyn” on NBC led its hour but delivered only mediocre ratings. “So You Think You Can Dance” was down some for FOX.

CBS delivered 6.05 million viewers and a 3.9 rating/7 share in households in primetime, edging NBC (5.9 million, 3.7/7) for the lead. FOX (4.4 million, 2.8/5) came in third. ABC (3.7 million, 2.4/4) was fourth, and The CW (1 million, 0.7/1) trailed.

CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 1.5 rating. FOX was right behind with a 1.4. NBC finished third at 1.2, followed by ABC, 0.9, and The CW, 0.2.
