parks and recreation ron swanson government shutdown U.S. government shutdown good news for 'Parks and Recreation's' Ron SwansonThe impending United States government shutdown is not a laughing matter. But at least it gives “Parks and Recreation’s” resident big government hater, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), a reason to smile.

Posted to the show’s official Facebook page, a captioned photo declares it the “BEST DAY EVER.”

In less than 15 minutes, over 4,000 people “liked” the post and another 1,000 had shared it to on their own pages. Naturally, some of the commenters did not see the humor [sic]:

“this is so disrecpeful. im in tears. thanx alot nbc. screw u”

“I love parks and rec, but this is insensitive to the thousands of employees who might be affected by this financially”

“Not funny – in poor taste and I love this show. Bad move NBC.”
