After an extremely messy, very public divorce from her wife, “Popular” star (and phenomenal Voguer) Tammy Lynn Michaels, rocker Melissa Etheridge has moved on to her longtime friend Linda Wallem, who, incidentally, was the “best man” in her wedding to Michaels. (Ouch.)
According to People, Etheridge and Wallem have been platonic best friends for over 10 years. Wallem, the creator of Showtime’s series “Nurse Jackie,” has appeared in episodes of “Seinfeld” and the movie “Sleepless in Seattle” and wrote for “That ’70s Show” before moving on to executive produce “That ’80’s Show.” (Ouch.)
Aside from being besties for a decade, Etheride and Wallem, both 49, share a birthday – May 29, 1961. Sounds like they’re star-crossed… unfortunately, Michaels may not agree.
Never one to sit quietly, Michaels made a very public, and very clear statement on her blog on January 18. Though People claimed the couple hooked up three months after the divorce, Michaels begs to differ – and says that one of her children saw Etheridge with Wallem earlier.
“since april of 09? mmm…. one of my little sweet peas told me otherwise much
earlier than that, Pooper magazine,” she writes. “they should have shut the bedroom door.”
Michaels, who has four-year-old twins with Etheridge, finished her blog with the following Rosie O’Donnell-esque statement-slash-poem.
in other words-
it’s not news
nothing new for me
only you guys-
i found out last year
and kept my mouth shut
for some reason
i’m interesting like that:
i’d rather squirm in rage
and look crazy
than open my mouth
about someone’s secret
i don’t know.
but i knew this
no “new couple!”
try again, pooper magazine.
almost only counts in horseshoes, right?
