Show business might be a young person’s game — but apparently landing an award-worthy guest role on a TV series is not.
This year’s Emmy nominees for outstanding guest actor and actress in a drama are a veteran bunch. Elizabeth Mitchell (“Lost”) is the least experience nominee in either category — and she’s been working steadily since the early ’90s.
The guest actress field also includes the likes of Ann-Margret (“Law & Order: SVU”) and a pair of “Big Love” guests, Sissy Spacek and Mary Kay Place, while Beau Bridges (“The Closer”), John Lithgow (“Dexter”) and Alan Cumming (“The Good Wife”) — the youngest male nominee, by the way — are among the guest-actor contenders.
Lithgow might have the edge among the actor nominees by virtue of being on nearly equal footing with series star Michael C. Hall in “Dexter,” but the actress category is pretty wide open. Who’s your favorite? Vote in the polls below (and in the polls for comedy guest actor and actress) and let us know what you think in the comments.
