The party is over. “The X Factor” crowned their first ever winner with Melanie Amaro taking home the grand prize. It was a festive night for everyone involved and that party continued even when the cameras stopped running.

#OccupyTelevisionCity – How hot of a ticket to “The X Factor” finale? People started camping out in front of the studio as early as 1:30 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 22) morning hoping to get in. Those people did.
L.A. feels the love – After the group performance featuring the Top 12, L.A. Reid commented how excited he was to have everyone back one last time. Reid tells the audience, “The was emotional. It really was.”
They’re baaaack! – Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson (who play Mac and Sweet Dee from “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” were back for their second turn in the audience. Considering the season just ended on their FX show, it appears they have a little extra time.
Party time – It’s been a long season for everyone involved. So the night took on a festive mood. The judges were interacting with the audience more than usual, signing autographs and mingling with the fans, including Simon Cowell.
