Congratulations are in order for Amy Duggar and Dillon King, who wed the evening of Sunday, Sept. 6.
“This is such a positive moment in our lives,” the niece of “19 Kids and Counting” stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar tells People.
Duggars present at the ceremony were Jim Bob, Michelle, Jessa, Jill and Anna, wife of Josh. Amy tasked Anna and Josh’s 5-year-old Mackynzie with being one of her flower girls along with young Duggars Johanna, Jennifer, Josie and Jordyn.
Josh was absent from the ceremony because he entered a rehab facility in late August. He’s kept the Duggar family in the press recently due to details of his molesting his sisters when they were younger and having an Ashley Madison cheating account coming to light.
Speaking to People about Josh’s wife Anna, Amy says, “She’s been through so much,” later adding, “My family is so important to me.”
Amy, who has appeared on the Duggars’ TLC show, Instagrammed about her impending nuptials in the days leading up to the wedding.
“Enjoying my last few days as… next a Mrs!” Amy captions one.
“Step by Step! And a sixpence for my shoe It’s really happening!!!So sweet of you! @shopwritten #girltalk #ringsforthekings” she posts in another.
People describes the wedding, which took place at Horton Farms in Arkansas, as “country-chic.” Amy wore a dress by Essense of Australia. The color theme was rose gold and candlelight.
“I loved how modern it was, and I love the train,” Duggar tells Us Weekly. “I love everything about it. I would wear it to the grocery store. I might be that bride where I’m wearing it to the grocery store and the gas station. I might bowl in it. Go-karts. … I’ll find a way to wear it all the time.”
Amy and Dillon started dating in November 2014. They announced their engagement on July 13 via Instagram.
