New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie was wrong if thought he rules of the Amtrak quiet car did not apply to him, and was promptly kicked off the 9:55 a.m. train after continuously yelling, “this is frickin’ ridiculous” and “seriously?! seriously?!” according to fellow passenger Alexander Mann, who tells Gawker about the incident.
“He got on last minute yelling at his two secret service agents I think because of a seat mixup,” Mann explains. He then “sat down and immediately started making phone calls on the quiet car. After about 10 minutes, the conductor asked him to stop or go to another car. He got up and walked out again yelling at his secret service. He was drinking a McDonald’s strawberry smoothie.”
To be exact, Christie was carrying a McDonald’s McCafe strawberry shake. The desert smoothie he was drinking for breakfast, which may seem healthy for being made with reduced fat vanilla ice-cream, is actually a massive cup of morning sugar. According to the McDonald’s website, a medium shake is about 690 calories, with 20 grams of fat, and 114 carbohydrates. Not the healthiest choice for the man who a mere two years ago got Lap-Band surgery to lose weight.
“It’s the best thing that I’ve ever done for my health,” Christie recently announced on NBC’s “The Today Show,” describing his decision to go under the knife.
Not sure his choice of a morning meal was a good decision for the presidential candidate, nor was creating such a scene on a public train.
