A seven-year-old boy in Chattanooga is having a very difficult time; a Hollywood superstar known as much for his bulging biceps as his equally-oversized heart loves to post on social media. Now, the Internet is trying to bring these two together in a campaign that will bring a smile to your face.

Gabriel Singleton is nicknamed “Tater,” and he has a potentially terminal form of cancer. His favorite actor is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and he wants desperately to meet the man who is brave, strong and bald — just like Tater.

“Right now, the cancer is in his bone marrow and his bones. Originally, it was in his stomach and just everywhere,” the boy’s mother, LuLu Singleton, tells Tennessee-area news station WRCB. “He was kind of embarrassed about his bald head. So I would pull up The Rock’s Instagram account and I’d say, Look! The Rock is bald and he’s so strong and he’s awesome. You’re just like him!”

After battling cancer for more than half his life, Tater became devoted to the social media feed from the affable actor. He then made a poster, hoping that by posting it, he’d be able to make a connection with the sometimes-wrestler who is inspiring him during his smackdown with cancer.

“We started listing all the things why [Tater] is so strong and what he’s been through,” Ashley Zani, a specialist at Tater’s Children’s Hospital explains.

“Do you smell what Tater is cooking?” the poster reads, spoofing The Rock’s catchphrase. “Losing my hair made me sad, but seeing you rock your bald head made it easier! I think you are strong, but I am very strong too. I’ve been stuck by hundreds of needles, have had tons of shots, gone through 8 surgeries … you inspire me with your positive attitude.”

Tater and his mother are hoping that if enough people share their Facebook post featuring a picture of the poster and Tater holding a Rock doll, word will get back to the “Furious 7” star. To help, click the photo at the top of this post and share to your own social media feeds. With any luck, there will soon be a follow-up post featuring The Rock and The Tater together.
