Jennifer Lawrence has a new holiday tradition: visiting with the patients at the Kosair Children’s Hospital, which is near her native Louisville, Kentucky.
Lawrence has spent some of her time with sick children when she travels home for Christmas for the past two years now, in the same way that other big stars like Mark Hamill, Taylor Swift and Chris Pratt have done recently.
JLaw visited with lots of sick children who are in the hospital over the holidays, taking photos with everyone and thrilling them with the chance to meet a local celebrity. The hospital’s Facebook page thanks Lawrence for “bringing many smiles to the patients before the holidays.”
As the star of one of the biggest YA franchises in Hollywood, a lot of kids’ dreams came true to see Katniss Everdeen by their bedside. One kid’s mom even jokes that her son “thinks he’s famous now” after meeting the star.
Others simply shared adorable pictures of Lawrence visiting with their children. Lawrence had another successful year, headlining the final installment of the “Hunger Games” series and getting more Oscar buzz for her role in “Joy,” so it’s nice to see her giving back.
Watch Lawrence in “Joy” in theaters on Dec. 25, 2015.
