Beyonce and Kim Kardashian

Beyonce is no longer the queen of Instagram. After claiming the title of most-followed user on the photo-sharing app, she’s been dethroned by none other than Kim Kardashian, who she originally took the honor from back in January.

It took less than a year for Kardashian to once again surpass Queen Bey and her 43.9 million followers. As of Monday, Aug. 24, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star has become the first person to amass over 44 million followers.

Kardashian celebrated her accomplishment with a pair of photos with Carla DiBello, a producer who worked on her series “Kourtney and Kim Take New York.”

Meanwhile, Beyonce doesn’t seem to be taking the news so hard. Her last post came Saturday (Aug. 22), with photos of her, husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy on a boating, enjoying the summer.

Kim has more followers at the moment, but Beyonce still has a chance of winning the war.
