Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy arrive at the Muppets Most Wanted premiere

News that Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog terminated their romantic relationship rocked the entertainment world on Tuesday (Aug. 4), and many celebrities took to Twitter to express their sadness over the longterm couple calling it quits.

“I can’t believe the news from #TheMuppets. I hope it wasn’t another frog. Or pig. I’m not entirely sure how that lifestyle works,” says Ellen DeGeneres.

“The Good Wife” star Alan Cumming, author Neil Gaiman and Shannon Woodward, who will soon appear in HBO’s “Westworld,” were also gutted to hear about the breakup.

Miss Piggy hasn’t become a shut-in since the news broke. In fact she’s really grateful for the outpour of support during this difficult time, but she has some better ideas on what could help her cope instead of nice tweets.

Meanwhile celebrity designer Marc Jacobs thinks that a little shopping will help mend the broken hearts.

“Shameless” leading lady Emmy Rossum also has a pretty amazing idea for helping Miss Piggy find her happily ever after — make her the next “Bachelorette.”

Kermit is realizing that this breakup could be a catalyst to other employment opportunities as well. The iconic frog snapped a picture with “Agents of SHIELD” star Ming-Na Wen and tweeted that if the team is ever in need of a “smaller green agent” they should give him a call.

And if things don’t work out between him and Denise in publicity, he’s also getting romantic offers from “Black-ish’s” Tracee Ellis Ross.

As tough as the breakup may be for the general public to handle, it seems that Kermit and Miss Piggy are making the most of it and are maybe ready to move on.
