On Thursday (June 2), Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers kicked off at Oakland, California’s Oracle Arena. While it’s a very exciting re-match of 2015’s championship series, there are two people who might easily steal all the attention during the game. Nope, it’s not MVP favorites LeBron James or Steph Curry … it’s their daughters: Zhuri James and Riley Curry.
If either of these cutie patooties are sitting court side with their Moms and siblings, it’s probably going to be hard to keep the cameras off of them. It’d be difficult not to hope to catch a glimpse of Zhuri — who will turn 2-years-old in October — or Riley — who will celebrate her 4th birthday in July. But only one of these young ladies will be joining her father on the court at the end of the series, helping to raise the championship trophy in celebration.
While LeBron and his wife Savannah posted numerous photos of their two boys growing up, the parents have been very protective of only daughter Zhuri — keeping her face hidden in all shared shared pictures.
But check out her little pink Corvette! It’s clear Zhuri’s got sass, and the NBA Finals is the perfect time for her public debut.
The toddler is already old enough to be lifting weights with her Dad in the gym.
They even got creative with a nicely wrapped scarf, as Zhuri hangs out with her siblings LeBron Jr. and Bryce. Maybe a Cleveland win will allow fans to finally see her smiling face.
Curry, however, has no problem showing off his girls to the adoring crowds. He and his wife Ayesha recently welcomed a second daughter, Ryan. By all accounts, she is completely adorable cheering on her father in that pint-sized jersey.
Riley first stole the hearts of fans everywhere during last year’s NBA Finals. The spitting image of her father, she commanded headlines with her adorable nature during the 2015 post game championship conference. In case you missed it, here’s a compilation of some her most hilarious moments.
Riley has the media eating out of the palm of her hand. That’s even after she recently gave reporters the “I’m watching you” eyes during her father’s MVP ceremony.
She keeps her Dad in check, too! Check out the way she refuses a post-game kiss from Steph, and then goes in for the hug. Spectators were simply dying from watching it all go down.
Perhaps, the most adorable aspect of all of this is seeing two NBA beasts turn into mush while around their little girls. Both Steph and LeBron make it clear their first priority will always be their family, and that the role of “Daddy” means way more than any basketball title.
