“Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba had a very special date at the 2016 SAG awards — that’s because the last date that these two had together was their high school prom.
Aruba posted this flashback split screen of them on her Facebook page. Captioning the photo: “He asked me to the prom, I said yes. I asked him to SAGs, he said yes. #sagawards @mcrow55”
What a big night they had, too. “Orange Is the New Black” won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and Aduba took home the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. Here’s her inspiring acceptance speech in case you missed the 22nd annual awards ceremony on Jan. 30.
Aduba's date "@Mcrow55", a.k.a. Mark Crowley, has a private Instagram account, but Aduba's adorable post has already received over 72 thousand likes. Crowley seems like an all around stand-up guy. His bio includes a link to support the Dana-Farber Institute, for which he's running the 2016 Boston Marathon in honor of one his dear friends currently battling with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer.
