We’ve all heard that kids say the darnedest things — but wait until you see what they draw.
When Australian mom Amy Herrmann left her two little girls alone in the kitchen, she began to get that uncomfortable feeling that only afflicts parents and characters in suspense movies: It’s quiet, too quiet.
As Herrmann discovered what was going on, all she could do was laugh and turn on her camera phone. “I love being zebras,” says her adorable 3-year-old Sovereign in the video, permanent marker in hand.
As the camera pans over, we get a glimpse of the girl’s little sister Pippen: An 18-month-old, butt-naked cutie with a binky in her mouth, curly blonde locks … and dozens of black stripes drawn all over her face, back and naked rear end.
“We do a lot of drawing and painting, though not usually on our baby sister,” Hermmann tells Buzzfeed about the video, which has been viewed over 10 million times.
“I worked as a face painter for some time also, so it’s possible that’s where the idea to transform her sister came from too. Though she usually requests to be a tiger, so the zebra explanation was quite unexpected.”
The mother is glad to report that little Pippen is back to normal after some bath time and a lot of shampoo. “I’m happy to see her creativity showing,” she says of her older daughter. “No matter the canvas.”
