The popularity of online shopping during the holidays has skyrocketed in the past few years, because who actually wants to fight their way through an overcrowded mall? Especially on Black Friday. But for online Amazon shoppers in 2015, it’s not just one day of deals for Black Friday, it’s an entire Black Friday Week.
Beginning on Saturday (Nov. 20) new deals will be rolling out every five minutes, leading up to midnight on Thanksgiving, in which there will be special markdown prices for 10 “Deals of the Day,” with an additional bonus 10 offered on actual Black Friday.
The online company is also going to be offering its “Lightning Deals,” throughout that entire week, selling “thousands of sought-after products per day.” Plus, with goal of boosting traffic on their mobile app, there will be 150 additional “Lightning Deals” available exclusively on their Amazon Mobile Shopping App, which will have a daily roll out of new specials from Thanksgiving Day through Dec. 9. Those who are Amazon Prime members will get the added bonus of receiving these “Lightning Deals” 30 minutes before regular customers.
New this year, Amazon will be starting “Watch A Deal,” which allows customers to pick their favorite deals, and have notifications sent to their mobile devices when the deal goes live.
“Customers can truly sit back and relax with their family and friends this holiday season knowing that they will be notified as soon as the products they’ve had their eye on are about to go on sale,” says Steve Shure, vice president of Amazon Consumer Marketing. “Year after year, more and more customers shop for deals on Amazon from the comfort of their own home, and we continue to make that process even more convenient for them.”
