Well, here’s a shocker: The winners for the 2012 MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss might look a little familiar, considering it’s their fourth consecutive year taking home the popcorn statue. That’s right, “Twilight” stars and real-life couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are once again your best on-screen kissers, this time for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.”
Pattinson wasn’t at the June 3 ceremony, so Stewart had to accept the award by herself. “I don’t know what to do,” she said before attempting to summon some of her other costars onstage. She tried shouting out her “Snow White and the Huntsman” costars Chris Hemsworth (“Where’s my huntsman?”) and Charlize Theron (“Come on, Charlize, come on — help a sister out”) before seeing if “Breaking Dawn” costar Taylor Lautner was available (“Help an old friend out”).
Unfortunately, none of them were around, so she pretended to kiss herself. In all seriousness (even though she dropped the statue on the floor as soon as she got it), she thanked the fans for their support. “Thank you guys, it really means a lot. Thank you guys for giving us Best Kiss again.”
For those of you wondering, the “Twilight Saga” Best Kiss reign will likely last one more year before other movie stars are given a shot at the title. If you’ve been keeping track at home, “Twilight” won in 2009, “New Moon” won in 2010, “Eclipse” won in 2011, and of course “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” takes home the statue in 2012.
