What happens when your celebrity hall pass crush, whom you never thought you’d actually work with, is cast in a movie with you? It gets a little awkward, according to Bryce Dallas Howard and Jake Johnson.
The “Jurassic World” stars were on “Late Late Show with James Corden” Wednesday (June 10) and it came out that Howard saw Johnson in “Ceremony,” a 2010 movie directed by her godbrother Max Winkler (Howard’s godfather is Henry Winkler, who co-starred with her father Ron Howard on “Happy Days”).
After that, the “New Girl” star got put on Howard’s list. Except, she confesses — as she stammers and blushes and physically moves away from Johnson on Corden’s “Late Late Show” couch — “I don’t have a list, I have a — I have a person.”
“Hold on, hold on — Bryce, you did not tell me that,” says Johnson, as Corden calls this whole scene “exceptional.”
But Johnson reveals that Howard, who’s been married to actor Seth Gabel since 2006, was upfront with him about her crush on the “Jurassic World” set — and by “upfront,” Johnson means she pretty much led with that.
“When I first showed up to ‘Jurassic’ … I was very excited to work with Bryce, and we first met and she goes, ‘You’re on my list, I told my husband, that’s it. I wanted to get it out the way,'” recalls Johnson.
Way to play it cool, Bryce.
“Jurassic World” opens Friday, June 12.
