Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Tuesday (Nov. 24) with a little gift: the first teaser trailer for "Captain America: Civil War." It's been a pretty great ratings week for Kimmel thus-far and this brand new teaser will be sure to help!
The new film is based on the Marvel Comics crossover event that happened in 2006 and 2007. The story finds Cap and Iron Man on opposing sides as the governments across the world attempt to regulate its superheroes.
In an odd turn of events, the law abiding Captain takes a side against the governments in question and becomes at odds with Tony Stark. This chain of events leads to a fracturing of the Avengers team and causes the other heroes to pick sides.
While the clip doesn't unload anything really mind-blowing, as it looks like Marvel is holding this one close to the chest, this is the first video footage introducing Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) to the world.
No new Spider-Man (Tom Holland) as-of-yet and it looks like fans will have to wait into the new year before they can glimpse the web-slinger at work. It also looks like William Hurt is returning as General Thaddeus Ross, reprising the role from 2008's "The Incredible Hulk."
Continuing the story of Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) from "The Winter Soldier" will definitely prove exciting as there is so much more story to be explored. But, be warned, things are going to get really dark in "Captain America: Civil War" which is set to hit theaters everywhere on May 6, 2016.
