chloe moretz carrie delayed 'Carrie' delayed: Chloe Moretz horror remake postponed from March to October 2013Here’s some news to pour cold blood water on our moviegoing plans.

“Carrie”, the horror remake starring Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore, has been postponed seven months from its original March 15, 2013, release date.

A trick … or treat? The reboot of the first film adaption of a Stephen King novel will be released Oct. 18, 2013 — when audiences are hungry for Halloween fare.

(Brian De Palma‘s “Carrie” flick, featuring Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie, was originally released on Nov. 3, 1976, just after Halloween.)

“The Call,” another thriller starring another teen girl, will fill “Carrie’s” spot on March 15. In the movie, renamed from “The Hive,” Halle Berry plays an emergency call center operator trying to save a kidnapping victim (Abigail Breslin).

Sony has also shuffled two other films: “No Good Deed,” starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson, originally scheduled in “Carrie’s” new Halloween slot, will now debut Jan. 17, 2014, while George Clooney‘s “Monuments Men” is being bumped up by two days — from Dec. 20 to Dec. 18, 2013 — for an extra boost by holiday movie audiences.
