Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan is keeping it in the film family at Warner Bros. The studio will release his next movie on July 21, 2017.

There aren’t any details known about the new project, but it makes sense that Nolan would stay at WB. The studio most recently released “Interstellar,” his space-set feature that went on to gross $188 million.

Nolan rose to glory at Warner Bros. After his breakout “Memento,” which Summit Entertainment released, he went on to helm “Batman Begins” at WB. The 2005 superhero flick helped usher in a new, darker age of comic book movies. Its sequels, 2008’s “The Dark Knight” and 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” solidified his relationship with the studio.

Beyond his Batman trilogy, Nolan’s 2006 sci-fi drama “The Prestige” was a Warner Bros. co-production with Touchstone Pictures and his 2010 film “Inception” was a Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures co-production.

Considering Nolan’s track record, it’s easy to imagine that his new movie is going to straddle the line between science fiction and drama. Variety reports WB has all the rights on the new project.
