Actor Ryan Reynolds gave it everything he’s got to film the “Deadpool” movie, and physically speaking — he announces on Entertainment Weekly radio — he literally means everything. There were numerous scenes filmed for the upcoming superhero movie in which Reynolds needed to strip completely down.
“The only way to do that, is just do it,” Reynolds says to EW editorial director Jess Cagle.
“We had a little talk with the crew at the beginning of the day and just said, ‘You’re going to see parts of the dance floor here that you weren’t ready for. I’m sorry in advance, but we’re all in this together.’”
It’s safe to say not many people on set would complain about seeing the heartthrob naked. In reality, the 39-year-old actor was covered up with strategically placed make-up, which turns out to be quite a lengthy process.
“Eight hours of prosthetic makeup in places that no man needs to be there with a paintbrush,” Reynolds admits.
But the Canadian star felt confident while being naked on set, thanks to his make-up artist, whom he calls “a genius. We had Bill Corso, who’s this incredible Oscar-winning makeup artist … and he made my penis look perfect.”
His full interview will be available on Friday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. ET/PT on EW Radio on SiriusXM, the same day that “Deadpool” premieres in theaters. Check out the movie’s latest trailer below.
