If you never got around to seeing the latest “Fantastic Four” movie, you’re certainly not the only one. After bad reviews and a disgruntled director taking out his frustrations on Twitter, the movie bombed at the box office.

Now comes word that a planned sequel for the movie has been removed from the 20th Century Fox release calendar, which isn’t all that surprising. That doesn’t mean there’s no fun to be had with the movie, though.

“Fantastic Four” has been given the honest trailer treatment, pointing out a number of the far too many reasons the movie didn’t work — from the complete lack of energy, to the silly take on Doctor Doom to the strange character design. Try to see the Thing as anything other than a chocolate snowman after watching this trailer.

Of course, it also points out that the characters are never referred to by their superhero names — or as the Fantastic Four, for that matter — at any point in the movie.

Whether you loved or hated the movie — Did anyone actually love it? — it’s hard to not wonder what director Josh Trank’s original cut was like and if it was as “fantastic” as he claims.

Don’t get your hopes up though, that ever seeing the light of day is even less likely than a sequel.
