'The Hateful Eight'

If you can’t wait until it’s Dec. 25 release date for your first taste of “Hateful Eight,” writer/director Quentin Tarantino has just given you an early holiday present.

Tarantino teamed up with illustrator Zach Meyer for a short comic released on Playboy.com (Warning: Contains profanity and racial slurs), which tells the story of how bounty hunters Major Marquis Warren (Samuel L. Jackson) and John Ruth (Kurt Russell) met, setting up “The Hateful Eight.”

The comic also introduces Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a fugitive captured by Ruth with a $10,000 bounty on her head.

Following this meeting, in the movie, the three encounter five more people while snowed during a blizzard, setting the stage for a tale of deception, violence and betrayal that will likely leave at least some of them dead. “The Hateful Eight” opens in limited theaters on Dec. 25, before releasing wide on Jan 8.
