If you were looking forward to seeing Jessica Chastain taking on the role of Hillary Clinton, it’s time to let those hopes go for now. While a movie about the former Secretary of State is reportedly being planned, Chastain isn’t in talks for the part.
When asked by journalists about getting the role at Saturday’s Sound of Change concert event in London, the “Zero Dark Thirty” actress says, “No, that’s actually not true. I found out about the project online, but, yeah, there’s a lot of stuff out there.”
That doesn’t mean those behind the movie won’t contact her eventually about the role, but at this point it seems to not be happening. Other names rumored to be considered for the title character in “Rodham” are Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Amanda Seyfried. The movie documents Clinton’s time as a lawyer in the 1970s.
