colin trevorrow jurassic park 4 director gi 'Jurassic Park 4' director found: Colin Trevorrow gets the job

Even though it seems like some sort of weird dream, it’s beginning to sound like “Jurassic Park 4” is real. First, it was announced in January that Steven Spielberg was on board as an executive producer. The sequel, which will be shot in 3D, was also given a June 13, 2014 release date.
Now Deadline brings news that Universal Pictures has finally found a director for the movie. Colin Trevorrow, who most recently debuted the no-budget “Safety Not Guaranteed” at the Sundance Film Festival, has been tapped to helm the film. The script was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, who wrote 2011’s “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”
“Jurassic Park 4” will be the first installment in the franchise since the third film’s release in 2001. The movie is a huge jump for Trevorrow, who only has one feature under his belt. However, the studio in confident he will be mindful of preserving and protecting the film’s characters, and the story he will tell.
