key and peele movie Key & Peele are making a movie: Which of their characters could carry a film?Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, the stars of Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele,” are set to write and star in a movie that Judd Apatow is producing.

“I love these guys because they are riotously, make you sick because you can’t stop laughing, funny,” Apatow tells Deadline. “I think Key and Peele are capable of making the movie that America desperately needs right now.”

The movie’s premise is being kept under wraps — but we have some ideas, based on some of the characters from their show. (All the clips below, incidentally, are NSFW.)

Obama and Luther: The president and his anger translator are probably K&P’s most famous bit, but could they carry a movie? Maybe a “White House Down”/”Olympus Has Fallen” scenario in which a terrorist attack separates them, and Obama must find his own inner anger to rescue Luther.

Mr. Garvey: Key’s former inner-city teacher is a substitute in the suburbs, where he mangles names like Aaron (“A-A-Ron”) and is always ready to bring order to the classroom. Funny in spurts, but probably not deep enough for a film.

Vandaveon and Mike: The “hosts” of a web show that offers weekly critiques of “Key & Peele,” mostly to advocate for lots more penis jokes. What if they got their big break?

East/West Bowl: A sketch that was basically just a list of goofy names has spawned recurring characters Hingle McCringleberry and Ozamataz Buckshank. We haven’t had a good sports comedy for a few years …

The Valets: This would be our pick — but only if Liam Neesons is available for a co-starring role.
