batman superman man of steel detroit 'Man of Steel' sequel with Batman to film in Detroit for Gotham City and Metropolis

It’s been announced by the Michigan Film Office that the highly-anticipated “Batman vs. Superman” sequel to “Man of Steel” will film in Detroit. The bankrupt city will serve as both Metropolis, home of Superman, and Batman’s native Gotham.
The production has been awarded a $35 million tax incentive for bringing the movie to Michigan, based on an expected $131 million in expenditures. The state estimates the film, directed by Zack Snyder, will result in 426 full-time jobs and over $5 million being spent on local hotels and vendors during the shoot.
“Detroit is a great example of a quintessential American city,” Snyder says, “and I know it will make the perfect backdrop for our movie.” The story will bring together two of the world’s biggest superheroes, Batman and Superman, on the big screen for the first time.
Henry Cavill will return as Superman, while it has been announced that Ben Affleck would take on the role of Batman. No other cast has been announced, but it’s been rumored Bryan Cranston will join as Lex Luthor.

The untitled movie is set to start filming in early 2014.
