Disney's 'Moana'

Disney is ready to reveal their newest princess to the world. During the Disney Animation Studios and Pixar presentation at D23, the studio revealed concept art for the “Moana,” the upcoming animated film that follows a teenage Polynesian girl — named Moana — on a journey to find a fabled island.

The concept art put on display for fans included the first images of Moana, who has yet to be cast, as well as Maui (Dwayne Johnson), a demigod she goes on her adventure with. Johnson was also on hand to talk about his dream of being a Disney character. “When I first got in this business 15 years ago — I’ve been a lucky guy and had a pretty good career over the years — I had a goal. The goal was to be in the Disney family,” he tells the audience.

He continues, "Samoa is in my blood and to tell a story inspired by the South Pacific is truly a great honor."

"Moana" isn't in theaters until 2016, but you can see the movie's concept art below.
