Morgan Freeman can add another distinguished honor to his resume.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that the thespian will receive the Cecil B. DeMille award at the 2012 Golden Globes ceremony.
The award is traditionally given out to a luminary in the showbiz industry for their outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment, starting with DeMille himself in 1962 and continuing with Hollywood legends like Alfred Hitchcock, Walt Disney, Joan Crawford, Barbra Streisand, Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese.
Freeman has at least two films coming out in 2012, including “Summer at Dog Dave’s” and the highly anticipated “The Dark Knight Rises.”
