Christopher Guest is bringing Mascots to Netflix

Christopher Guest hasn’t made a mockumentary since 2006 film “For Your Consideration,” but all that is about to change in 2016.

The writer behind such classics as “This is Spinal Tap,” “Waiting for Guffman” and “Best in Show” is bringing his wacky mockumentary style to Netflix for “Mascots.”

The announcement invites viewers to the 8th annual World Mascot Association Championships.

“Welcome to all the drama, intrigue and occasional excitement of the 8th World Mascot Association Championships. Where a group of ‘unusual’ men and women, with big heads and furry suits, compete to win the prestigious gold fluffy award and be crowned best mascot in the world.”

There’s no word yet on who is starring in the movie, but Guest frequently collaborates with Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Parker Posey, Michael McKean and Fred Willard, so hopefully some of the familiar Guest movie faces are participating.
