A new poster for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” has been released through the official Instagram account associated with the franchise. Leading up to the poster’s debut, pictures of the “Catching Fire” novel were released, including the highlighted quote, “The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.”
That quote also features prominently at the top of the poster, which includes an artist’s rendering of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in her hunting clothes, bow and arrow in hand. The clouds in the sky seem to be forming wings, a stark visual contrast to the ones made of fire she had during the tribute parade in the first movie.
The poster looks to be in the style of a painted portrait, with Katniss looking pretty heroic. It makes sense, as the second movie finds her beginning to become the image of revolution in Panem. It’s a very different Katniss than was seen in the Capitol character portrait released in March.
“Catching Fire” features the returns of Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland. New additions to the cast include Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It hits theaters November 22.
