now you see me sequel lionsgate 'Now You See Me' sequel due in theaters in 2014

Expect to see a “Now You See Me” sequel in theaters in 2014.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer tells analysts that the studio is developing a sequel to the Summit Entertainment hit that will likely come out in theaters next year, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The 2013 film has done well in the international box office, and has yet to open in big markets like China, Japan and Australia.

According to Box Office Mojo, “Now You See Me” made $115.6 million in the United States and $117.6 internationally, bringing its global total over $233 million. Feltheimer estimates the movie will end up making $275 million worldwide.

Directed by Louis Leterrier and written by Bobby Cohen, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, “Now You See Me” starred Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Mark Ruffalo. It’s definitely set up to have a sequel, but there’s no word yet on whether a screenwriter is currently developing the project. Would you like to see a “Now You See Me 2,” or as we like to call it, “Now You Still Don’t See Me”?
