The live show is based on the 1997 film starring Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow, in which two wonderfully blonde and wonderfully clueless best friends create made-up lives in order to impress everyone at their high school reunion. Playing the lead roles on stage will be actresses AJ Michalka (“The Goldbergs”) and Stephanie Wall, who both simultaneously revealed their starring roles with announcements on Instagram.

Michalka teased a photo of them in their full ’90s costumes.

Fans of the cult classic will be happy to know that the musical will not stray too far from the movie’s story line, as the original film’s screenwriter Robin Schiff is writing the musical’s script. Music and lyrics are being penned by “Orange is the New Black” composers Gwendolyn Sanford and Brandon Jay, and Kristin Hanggi is tapped to direct.

“Romy and Michele” will run June 8, 2017 through July 2, 2017, so make yourself a reminder to book a flight to Seattle. Use a Post-It note.
