Making "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" resulted in a lot of "pinch me" moments for the cast and creators of the film.

From John Boyega, who plays Finn, getting to wield a lightsaber to Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, hearing Anthony Daniels speak as C-3PO for the first time, the cast and director J.J. Abrams shared with Zap2it the surreal moments on "The Force Awakens'" set.

Abrams, Boyega, Isaac and Daisy Ridley attended Disney's D23 Expo to promote "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." There Disney unveiled artist Drew Struzan's poster featuring characters Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren and Han Solo.

The reveal of Finn holding a lightsaber was something Boyega was thrilled to finally share with the world.

"I can't believe I'm saying that: 'I had a lightsaber in my hand.' I got to hold it and use it and stand with it," Boyega shares. "I can't tell you how amazing it is to stand with a lightsaber and just see everybody reacting to you."

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
