Help us, Force Friday, you’re “Star Wars” toy lovers’ only hope.
Target put a new commercial to promote the Sept. 4 release of new “Star Wars” merchandise — appropriately titled Force Friday — to tug on fans’ nostalgia.
The two-minute-long ad is filled with footage of children and adults opening “Star Wars” toys, recreating their favorite moments and reacting to the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” trailer.
Though the commercial is sure to take people down memory lane, it’s also meant to promote Target’s “Share the Force” initiative. On the “Share the Force” website, users can submit their own “Star Wars” memories and share who their favorite “Star Wars” character is.
Force Friday begins at midnight on Friday, Sept. 4. 207 Target stores are participating in the rollout of new “The Force Awakens” items. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits theaters on Dec. 18.
