“Glee” star Chris Colfer isn’t content with his day job on one of the most popular shows on television, so he’s been moonlighting as a New York Times Bestselling author and now a feature film screenwriter and star. “Struck By Lightning,” which Colfer wrote, stars the multi-talented actor as Carson, a high school senior who blackmails his classmates into joining a literary magazine so he can beef up his college applications.
The newer, better trailer focuses a little less on the high school aspect of the movie and more on Cason’s less-than-stellar home life. He’s too smart for his own good, and possibly takes after his mother — and inherits her depression.
We still get to see Carson’s classmates, played by Sarah Hyland and Rebel Wilson, among others, but we also see much more of the adult characters, including Allison Janney as Carson’s mom and Angela Kinsey as his guidance counselor.
Check out the new trailer below, and the old trailer here. Does the new clip make you more or less excited to see the movie?
UPDATE: Unfortunately, we’ve been asked to remove the video, which was intended for internal use only.
