susan-boyle2.jpgSusan Boyle’s one-of-a-kind success story could be headed for the big screen. Fox Searchlight has acquired “life rights” for Boyle’s story as well as the rights to Boyle-inspired U.K. musical “I Dreamed a Dream.”

The plan is to combine the musical and additional details from Boyle’s life for “a sensitive and honest biopic infused with music,” according to Deadline. No writer or director is attached yet.

Scottish-born Boyle achieved worldwide fame after her 2009 audition for “Britain’s Got Talent” became one of the most viewed online videos of all time. The release of her first album, “I Dreamed a Dream,” shattered U.K. records for the best-selling debut record of all-time.

A similar project based on Paul Potts, the cell phone store manager-turned-“Britain’s Got Talent” champion, is already in production starring Tony-winner James Corden.
