Marvel is taking its cinematic experience on the road. The studio and L.A.-based entertainment company Hero Ventures have partnered to create “The Marvel Experience,” a $30 million interactive entertainment experience that includes a 4D motion ride. The Marvel Experience will tour the United States in 2014.
The Hollywood Reporter describes The Marvel Experience as “a Con, with aspects of a theme park (i.e. the 4D motion ride) thrown in.” The Experience will include original 3D animated features, motion-comic origin stories, digitally-projected animation and virtual reality/holographic simulations, as well as merchandise and integrated social media, THR reveals.
The Marvel Experience will take place under a 50,000-sq. ft. dome that will travel to 20-24 cities. Thus far there are no plans to take it outside the US, but that might change depending upon the response to the tour. Meanwhile, a second U.S. Marvel Experience tour is being developed as a “sequel.”
More information about The Marvel Experience, like ticket prices and the cities it will be visiting, will be revealed at a later date.
