ronda rousey hunger games mockingjay ufc gi UFC star Ronda Rousey offered 'Hunger Games' sequel role report

Has the UFC’s first Women’s Bantamweight Champion, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey, already got her foot in Hollywood’s door? A new report from, of all things, an MMA and pro wrestling radio show seems to think so. Wrestling Observer radio, hosted by journalist Dave Meltzer, reported on it’s February 26 episode that Rousey has been offered a role in a sequel to the “Hunger Games” franchise.
There’s no word in which film she would be featured in, if the report is true. UFC president Dana White has a message for her, though. Appearing on “UFC Tonight,” White says that were Rousey to leave the octagon for movies, she’d be losing out on money. “I don’t care if she’s the lead role in ‘Hunger Games 2,'” White says, “she would not make anywhere near – I mean not even in the universe – of the money she makes fighting.” White says he’s had very basic talks with her about transitioning to movies, but nothing in-depth.
Rousey, who is also an Olympic judo medalist, recently signed with WME for representation, THR reports. She wouldn’t be the first female fighter trying to make it in show business, as Gina Carano has also moved into movies, starring in Steven Soderbergh’s “Haywire.” She also has a role in the upcoming “Fast & Furious 6,” with another athlete turned actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
