Paramount Pictures will make the most epic of shirtless fantasies come true if Zac Efron joins its “Baywatch” movie that already has Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attached. Efron is reportedly in negotiations with the studio to take on the part of a young lifeguard that needs to help Johnson save the beach from a natural disaster, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, which is being helmed by “Horrible Bosses” director Seth Gordon, is based off the hit ’90s TV drama starring David Hasshelhoff — which means there will be plenty of shirtless beach jogging scenes to enjoy.
However, you can expect a lot more laughs from the film interpretation. The hope is that “Baywatch” will be Paramount’s answer to “21 Jump Street.” Johnson also tweeted back in October that fans can expect a much more contemporary, and dirty, version of the television classic.
“”This is my beach b****!” Rumors are true… we’re making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and…,” he writes.
Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman are set to produce the feature.
